  • Making a fire at Camporee « Faithbook Pathfinder Camporee 2010, Finland
camp That is why we need to know limitations in using fires Fire regulations in Finland during the summer time know only two levels Normal green when campfires and open cooking fires are allowed The more restrictive level is Forest Fire Warning red when open fires are not allowed These restrictions do not include gas fuel cookers stoves or fires which are limited to burn inside a suitable protective shield Campsite Iso Kirja allows campfires on the ground with this limitation Lawn should be cut out and removed from the campfire place to be able to put back at the end of the camp There are no orders for altar fires Remember these things when you make a fire Never leave fire unattented Have enough water and a bucket close to the fire or fire extinguisher Never light up the fire when it is not allowed Forest Fire Warning Are you unsure if the fire is allowed Don t light it up Do not play with fire or at close range of fire Allways check your leader if fire is allowed She he should know at least where to ask it about The weather has been extremely dry in Finland

  • Mosquito reminder « Faithbook Pathfinder Camporee 2010, Finland
Maps Link Tips for Camporee travellers Topographic Map of the area Travel accomodation in Finland Weather preparedness Mosquito reminder Summer 2010 in Finland seems to be quite normal with mosquitos Somebody even thinks that there has been extra much of them personally I do not share this opinion Towards the end of July a whole lot of them have died but not all so for sure there will be mosquitos during the Camporee This should not to be afraid of It is advisable to take with you a mosquito headned mosquito repellent and to be sure that net in your tent does not have a hole for mosquitos to come in And if you run out of repellent during the camp you can buy more at the kiosk Remember this We are not letting the mosquitos to ruin our Camp Added on July 15th Some researchers say that the extremely warm period more than 34 C we have had in Finland may cause that late summer will be pleasant with less mosquitos This sounds good but I will still have repellents with me Recent News More Camporee Video Reports on YouTube Camporee Tuesday Report on YouTube Camporee Saturday Report now
