  • DynaRoad Oy - Construction of Storberget Tunnel Planned in DynaRoad
    Project The Storberget tunnel contract is the first contract of the 23 km section from Farriseidet outside Larvik to Porsgrunn It will replace the out of date winding section of railway between Larvik and Porsgrunn The new line will be built in extremely undulating terrain and will include five bridges in addition to seven tunnels with a combined length of 14 5 km The section is currently under development and is a part of the modernization of the Vestfold Line railway Tunnel construction began in August 2012 and the deadline for completion is June 2016 All work on the new section is expected to be completed in the summer of 2018 Once it is open travel time from Larvik to Porsgrunn is reduced from 34 minutes to 12 minutes The Storberget tunnel is the largest tunnel in the section with a length of 4 680 meters and a blasting profile of 131 square meters An escape tunnel will also be built and linked to the main tunnel at intervals of 500 meters The tunnel will start at a cross cut located by the Lannerheia rifle range where a rigging area for the contractor has been established The Norwegian National Rail
