    of tuning the car barely reached 280km h on the Autobahn and a long line of error codes illuminated the night Luckily Aleksi has a long list of good contacts and his friend from Abu Dhabi pointed him in the direction of a certain specialist who also unsurprisingly lives in Germany Aleksi bought ferry tickets and drove to the city of Weissbach which is about 800kms from Travemünde After a long trip the car was parked in the yard of PP Performance which is owned by a guru named Jimmy Pelka Jimmy is a true professional and after few adjustments he had fixed the bugs in programming and the dyno results were 650hp and 1100Nm The trip home was a bit faster this time since the car reached 310km h on the Autobahn Enough power Needs more said Aleksi and continued to refine his evil plans for more power And so the exhaust headers were custom made by Alpina according to Aleksi s instructions New turbochargers were made by Turbotekniikka Oy and Fin Turbo At first the chargers were just upgraded Garretts but they have since been modified with Evo IX axles and MFS compressors Akrapovic exhaust was added and then the car was ready for a new tune Jimmy did the tuning once again and with V Power in tank the X5 produced 775hv and 1120Nm This time the magical 320km h was surpassed on the Autobahn It s a lot of power but according to the tuner the engine should withstand it with ease The Carbonschwarz colour looks nice and Vorsteiner s carbon package looks like Maybelline on a model s face The Vorsteiner package includes a front bumper spoiler a rear diffuser and new kidneys The windows were tinted a little and the rear window scratcher wiper was thrown into the abyss All in all the car looks dark and evil Well it is quite menacing with the V8 screaming through those Akrapovics and all Since the power has increased a lot and there s some serious mass moving around it s only wise to upgrade the brakes also Brembo big brake six pistons and massive 405mm discs should do the job The 22 three piece HRE wheels compliment both the brakes and the car and with 335 25 rear tire size it should have some grip on the corners too The suspension was modified too the front was dropped traditionally with H R lowering springs but the rear has air suspension which required some software tweaking The interior was reupholstered by Khrelix Design The material of choice is black leather and light grey stitching was used as an effect Tip of the hat to Aleksi for his choice of project car It was not the most obvious choice for a supercar killer but he managed to create something spectacular A daily driver that could survive in a Mad Max world and look classy whilst kicking ass Just perfect SPECS ENGINE PP Performance software custom turbochargers by

    huge difference to driving pleasure and to the number of spinal injuries Wheel arches were rolled a bit and OZ Turbo alloys ET0 were installed and now the car could achieve the height where unpracticality meets aesthetics The wheel specs are pretty radical for a car of this size but Miska managed to finish this job flawlessly The interior was modified to be sporty not comfortable The harness bar had to make way for a roll bar decorated with glitter The legendary Takata four point seat belts are attached to this roll bar and Sparco REV seats keep the driver on his place even on bumpier roads At this ride height almost every road is bumpy though This MX 5 is equipped with a MazdaSpeed engine that has a ported cylinder head tighter cams and a higher compression ratio Along with a stainless steel header and a new engine management software this thing has a pretty sweet power to weight ratio The engine was swapped in the winter of 2014 2015 when Miska noticed that every piston seal was broken and all of the oil poured into the engine came out of the exhaust The MazdaSpeed engine was offered to him at a price that could not be refused but the ECU was swapped to MegaSquirt in order to remove the MAF and other useless sensors This also helped in cleaning out the engine bay All the electric wires are hidden and the engine bay was painted during the engine swap and the end result is very neat Most of the original interior has been scrapped since the theme is not focused on comfort but performance After all these modifications this little car looks like the one you really would want to take a ride on a sunny day at

    have any speakers before but Jani thought the doors could benefit from a small touch of high fidelity Jani had bought a second Kadett to use as a test specimen and the door cards were first tested in that car The space between the door card and the seat is very narrow so small depth was a requirement when choosing these four 5 25 midrange speakers The upper part of the card has a panel of Finnfoam and has four Earthquake tweeters mounted in it Veli Laitila upholstered the whole interior with black and purple leather The seats and the door cards also received diamond stitchings The glass roof was not a factory option but it actually looks like it belongs there It also serves the function of a solar heater since it works like a burning glass Jani had set up a deadline for the completion of this project and the debut show for this facelift was to be in the spring of 2015 at Backwoods Cruising show in Kajaani With a lot of help from a lot of friends Jani managed to finish this project on time at 05 15AM on the day of the show A few hours of sleep and onwards to Kajaani A week from that Jani drove the car to the worlds biggest Opel event in Oschersleben Germany Modena Flash won the second price in Show Shine exhibition which is a very good performance since the competition was fierce The dashboard has a 5 25 two way component set and a 5 25 coaxial speaker The original dashboard had cracked pretty badly so it was fixed with glass fibre and then upholstered to match with the rest of the interior The GSi model had a digital gauge cluster from the factory which was a nice gimmick Back then this kind of gauges were mostly seen in Corvettes and of course in KITT The car was pretty fast in those days too since it is lightweight and has a powerful engine In the middle of the trunk there are four Earthquake Mini D1500 2 amps that power up the component sets At the sides of the trunk there are two Mini D2000 amps that juice up the four 10 subs There are also two SLAPS M 10 tuned passive radiators in the picture but after these pictures were taken the elements have been swapped to DBXI 10 subs SPECS ENGINE Stock 2 0 16V Simota free flow air filter Simons exhaust POWERTRAIN GSi transmission SUSPENSION Koni suspension kit BRAKES Mtec drilled and grooved discs front 288mm rear 268mm Vectra A V6 front calipers Omega B MV6 rear calipers WHEELS Team Dynamics Equinox II front 8 5x19 rear 9 5x19 TIRES Falken tires front 215 35 19 and rear 245 30 19 EXTERIOR Glass roof unique bodykit based on Ferrari Modena 360 designed by Akinaattori Salmela front and rear bumbers made of glass fiber Peugeot 405 side skirts modified glass fiber hood with a scoop rear

    wide lip seen in the picture was hard to find and apparently there was only shop that could source these and it was in the USA It took a month of waiting for these lips to arrive to Finland and the price was on par with a set of wheels Worth every penny though One of the first things to undergo severe modification was the interior The grayish interior was an eyesore even though the panels were made of real wood Every bit of faux leather was covered with vinyl paint and the roof lining was coated with spray paint The wooden panels were hidden under black vinyl wrap The factory power seats had to go since these Bride Low Max seats suit the current form better Rear seats have been removed altogether and the rear space was upholstered to look like it was like this from the factory The Momo snap off steering wheel has a Sparco quick lock so it s easy to take home with you in case you feel lonely BC Racing coilovers were pretty easy to set up and nothing rubs in the current setup It s easy to get stuck with this however as was seen during the photoshoot It might not be the most practical car out there but it sure looks and sounds nice In stock form the Soarer has four silencers and a catalyzer now it has one silencer SPECS ENGINE Basic Performance Upgrades BPU intercooler kit 440cc injectors 3 stainless catless exhaust Blitz Nür Spec rear silencer BMC air filter boost increased as high as possible with stock turbos 1 bar POWERTRAIN W58 manual gearbox ACT Extreme clutch Torsen limited slip differential SUSPENSION BC Racing coilovers 180 22 180 18 springs BRAKES EBC WHEELS Work Rezax 18x10 and 18x12 5
